We have bigger houses but smaller families
more conveniences, but less time.
We have more degrees but less sense
more knowledge but less judgment
more experts, but more problems
more medicines but less healthiness.
We’ve been all the way to the moon and back,
but have trouble in crossing the street to meet our new neighbour.
We built more computers to hold more copies than ever,
But have less real communication
We have become long on quantity,
but short on quality.
These are times of fast foods but slow digestion
Tall man but short characters,
Steep profits but shallow relationships.
It’s a time when there is much in the window
But nothing in the room.

— His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama

we should be the author of our success.

on success and failure.
questioning the idea of success. and what it really is.
and that.
with every success there is failure.
and this is OK.
we encounter 'job snobbery' these days.
and that famous question.
what do you do?
hope we have for our careers.
its the rewards we want.
we are in a materialistic time.
in need of love.
spirit of equality = envy.
finally...
'we should be the author of our success'.

a dream for the world

the wealth of a nation
doesn't consist of its exports
industrial production capacity or oil fields and gold mines
the real wealth of a nation
is the quality of its system of values
and above all its capacity to produce
leaders of the future
visionaries
pragmatic dreamers...
by Prof. Stefanno D'anno
for future leaders of the world.
